Barney Martin He's primped and preened a host of A-listers (think Kate Moss and Drew Barrymore) and he's the secret hair weapon for many a local celeb. Sydney hair stylist, Barney Martin, shares his top four can't-live-without hair must-haves.

1. Mason Pearson Pure Boar Bristle Brush, $290
A quality hairbrush will save you oodles of blow-drying time (not to mention reducing pesky problems like frizz and static). "This brush is great for brushing out long hair as it will leave the hair shiny and supple," says Barney. "It's also great for back-brushing — spray a bit of hairspray onto the brush before you begin, it will make it easier to achieve height and volume."

2. Batiste Dry Shampoo, $8.95
So, you don't have time to wash and blow-dry before you dash to work? Barney swears by this dry shampoo to magically transform oily roots from crusty to clean-looking with a quick spritz. "It's also great if you've applied too much product — it's a quick and easy way to get it out," Barney says.

3. L'Oréal Professional Techni.Art Crystal Gloss Shine Spray, $22.95
"No hairstyle is complete without a spritz of my favourite product, L'Oréal Crystal Gloss," says Barney. "It adds shine and gives your style the perfect finishing touch." Use this light-hold spray after you've blow-dried for a lustrous finish.

4. Kérastase Paris Nutritive Brume Nutri-Sculpt, $36.50
Barney's essential tool of the trade for fashion shows — it keeps your style in place but won't leave your hair feeling sticky or crunchy. "It can be evenly applied and just as easily brushed out," says Barney.
