You may have a few beauty products or a special perfume on your Christmas wish list , but have you considered asking for Botox this Christmas?
Women from the Orange County have, and they’re getting their wish list come true this year.
And when you think about it, it’s only a step up or maybe a little leap from the beauty products we use every day to prevent aging and highlight our beauty.
Plastic surgery is up 81 percent since 2000 in the US, with 11.5 million cosmetic procedures performed on women in in 2010, according to a statistics report from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
For sisters Tina Franklin and Nicole Tuzzolino, clothes, accessories and old family photos once were perfect Christmas presents.
But change is in the air for 41-year-old Franklin, who has asked her younger sister for Botox instead.
Franklin, the owner of a bridal makeup company, recently broke up with her long-term boyfriend and wants a 'fresh' face for 2012.
Speaking to Good Morning America, the Californian said she wanted botox around her eyes and crow's feet.
"That's what I notice the most, between the brows, and then on the forehead,"
Sister Tuzzolino, 33, said that although her sister may not need it and she may be "a little crazy", she was happy to comply.
"I know that she’s been wanting it, and it makes her happy," she said.
It seems Botox is no more expensive than many of the gifts we give each other during the holiday season, with plastic surgeon Dr Tenley Lawton saying a simple injection can cost as little as a few hundred dollars making the perfect Christmas gift for some.
It's not only the US that has seen a rise in Botox this Christmas with the UK Mirror reporting on "teen toxing" parties where mothers and daughters get jabbed while socialising over drinks and food.
While one can hope these Botox parties are a symptom of the silly season, it seems this trend will only be on the rise. Watch the video below to see how the popularity of Christmas Botox has grown in Australia.
