In a world full of fashion and celebrity scents it's always the iconic ones that withstand the test of time. Take these two Chanel fragrances as an example: Chanel No 5 and Coco Mademoiselle. Both long-lasting and smelling of high-end glamour, they have been dubbed two of the world's most coveted scents.
Oh la la, Mademoiselle! Another fragrance that we beauties here at Your Beauty Spot HQ just can't stop spritzing. Okay, so it's no No 5, which sells a bottle every 55 seconds around the world, but it's still high on our list of all-time favourites.
This is good news for Keira Knightley, who resumes her role as the ambassador for Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle fragrance for the third year running. The super-slim British actress took over the Coco reigns from Kate Moss in 2006, who served as a muse for the scent for three years also.
Hitting the headlines this morning, critics across the globe are knocking Knightley's sexed-up Chanel campaign shots, with reports saying she's been overdone and the star's normally waif-thin chest has been enhanced with an airbrushed cleavage.
Knightley follows in the footsteps of other iconic beauties who've starred in Chanel fragrance campaigns, including Mademoiselle Coco Chanel herself as the first face of No 5 in 1937, followed by actress Catherine Deneuve and Australian Nicole Kidman. Plus, we've seen the likes of French-born Vanessa Paradis for Coco, Anna Mouglalis for Allure Sensuelle and more recently the gorgeous actress Audrey Tatou starring as the face of Chanel No 5.
"It's so amazing to be welcomed into a couture house that has such a rich history and where, at the same time, you feel the pulse of creativity, energy and modernism", Keira says.
