When it comes to drawing a crowd on a rainy London night, a George Clooney appearance is like playing an ace. The eternal bachelor however surprised fans at the premier of his new film Fantastic Mr Fox last night by not only accessorising his tux with his new girlfriend, Italian TV presenter Elisabetta Canalis, but by sporting a remarkably smooth complexion. His fresh face needless to say not only raised eyebrows (although perhaps not his own) but the question, has the actor given into Hollywood’s pressure to drink from the eternal fountain of youth aka regular visits to the Botox fairy?
Given the notoriously cheeky star is nearing this 50th year, there’s no denying he’s weathered well yet he has never given a straight answer on how much cosmetic help he has had with his rugged good looks. In an interview in 2008 he quipped he’d ‘had his eyes done’ in preparation for the Oscars, adding “ Can you tell? I think it’s important to stay awake.”
So unsurprisingly when questioned about his wrinkle free face at the premier, he put it down to ‘ lots of drinking and lots of drugs.’ But will he have the last laugh? Well, not if he carries on with the rumoured Botox!
