As if singer, reality star, actress, wig-maker, bodycare-line creator, WAG and most recently, country crooner, wasn't enough to tout on her CV, Jessica Simpson is adding perfume-maker to her list of credentials.
US fragrance manufacturer Parlux (responsible for Paris Hilton's perfumes) will launch Simpson's scent named Fancy in the US this month.
"Fancy is as alluring, feminine and romantic as Jessica Simpson herself," says Parlux chairman and CEO Neil Katz. "Her talent, charm and values have made her America's sweetheart and have shown her to be the kind of person that women of all ages can admire."
And how does Fancy smell? Like a "luminous, dewy floral", according to the spinmeisters. Top notes are of pear, apricot nectar and red fruits. Middle notes are of gardenia, jasmine, toasted almonds and caramel. Hmm ... sounds more like baked goods to us than an EDP.
The bottle is inspired by Jessica's love of vintage perfume bottles, while Jessica's "look" for the magazine ads was inspired by Brigitte Bardot.
Jessica has said: "With Fancy, I wanted to create a pretty fragrance, one that I could be just as comfortable wearing on the red carpet or every day with my favorite jeans. For me Fancy is just that fancy."
No word on when Fancy will make it to Australian shores.
