The designer duo have given a little va-va-voom to this tried and true strategy for the launch of their D&G Fragrance Anthology range. It’s a clever cocktail that involves a sprinkling of supermodel (Eva Herzigova, Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell all feature), a dash of world-class photographer (Mario Testino shot the campaign) and an intriguing concept infusion.
The new collection is made up of five different perfumes, each represented by a celebrity skin and a tarot card theme – hence the random sequence of numbers emblazoned on the chic bottles. The connection was conjured up so each creation gives the wearer the illusion of enjoying some wonderful destiny.
Baffled? Let us expand. Claudia Schiffer represents 18 La Lune, the moon. The characteristics of this scent revolve around cool dreams, vivid imagination and romance, reflected in the floral and white musk notes. Whereas Naomi Campbell represents the 3 L'Imperatrice, the empress, a perfume where beauty and sexuality are captured by a fresh fruity juice.
