Kate Moss' new fragrance and possible make-up range

Friday, November 20, 2009

Kate Moss has just launched a third edition to her fragrance collection — Vintage Kate — and now the model/fashion and beauty tycoon is considering creating a make-up line, too.

There's no question about where the name Vintage Kate stemmed from. Kate alluded it was her long-time love for vintage clothing that gave her inspiration for the name.

Kate told WWD.com her obsession started when you was young and had no money, so she trawled second-hand clothing stores for timeless vintage treasures.

"I couldn't really afford designer clothes when I was young, so I just went to second-hand shops," Moss said. "It wasn't called vintage then, it was called 'second-hand' when I was 15."

Since the launch of her first self-titled fragrance Kate in 2007, Moss has continued to launch a new scent every year. In 2008, the beauty-conscious saw the unveiling of Velvet Hour and now, Vintage Kate. Plus, she also found time to sneak in a limited-edition summer spritzer dubbed Kate Summer Time.

As well as overseeing her fragrances, designing her Topshop collection, modelling for Yves Saint Laurent and Longchamp, featuring in advertising campaigns for Rimmel, and managing a hair-care brand with hairstylist James Brown, Kate is keen to take a stake of the make-up market, too.

Stephen Mormoris from Coty told WWD.com, the company may look into having Moss create special colour cosmetics collections for its Rimmel brand, which she fronts.

If all goes to plan (get your beauty paws ready) and if her Topshop collection is anything to go by, it'll be a sell-out success.
