Road test: new 'crackle' nail polish effect

Thursday, December 1, 2011
If you've noticed the new trend in 'shatter' or 'crackle' nail polish and want to try it for yourself then this is for you! Your Beauty Spot reader Rebel Haslingden tried Sally Hansen's Crackle Overcoat to see what all the fuss is about.

This new top coat can be applied to any colour base coat, creating a unique and custom crackle design on every nail it's applied to. Just make sure your base coat is totally dry before you apply the 'crackle'!

The new statement-making nail polish comes in eight striking colours; Snow Blast, Vintage Violet, Fractured Foil, Fuchsia Shock, Distressed Denim, Antiqued Gold, Cherry Smash and Ink Splatter.

Plus it's super-easy to apply and goes from wet to set in 60 seconds!

"With Crackle Overcoat the color combo possibilities are endless says Sally Hansen Manicurist, Alison Bowhill-Hayes. For daytime I love an understated crackle - think nude nails topped with Antiqued Gold, and at night I take it up a notch topping black polish with Distressed Denim."

We road tested the new Crackle Overcoat in 08 Ink Splatter with Sally Hansen's Insta-Dry 13 Racey Rouge as a base coat and loved the uniquely edgy look that was created on each nail in a matter of seconds! We were also pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to apply.

Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat is available from December 1st 2011 at Target, K Mart, Priceline pharmacies and selected pharmacies nationwide for $9.95.
