Why is it that little brothers seem to be born with bountiful Bambi lashes, while most of us girls have to make do with such sparse offerings?
Don’t be dishearted, there is good news. Mascaras are getting cleverer by the day and even the most flimsy flutter can become fabulous.

- 5. Max Factor's new False Lash Effect is set to be a beauty favourite. With its fat brush, which has twice the amount of bristles than regular mascaras, it catches all your lashes in one fell sweep. Oh, and the waterproof formula is perfect for day-through-night wear. 8/10, $24.95.
- 6. Rimmel's new Sexy Curves Mascara can turn sparse lashes into show-stopping lashes. Trust us; a couple of coats of this magic formula and you'll feel blessed with the loveliest lashes in town. 10/10, $51.
- 7.Lancöme Oscillation is as high-tech as mascara gets. The wand vibrates more than 7000 times per minute to encourage complete coverage and curl. Gimmick we hear you say? Think again. - 8. MAC's Zoom Lash is a fast lash makeover. It's ideal for nights out when you want to make an impact. One coat is enough for a wow-finish. 8/10, $25.
- 9. English rose Jemma Kidd's Lasting Tint: Semi Permanent Waterproof Lash Colour has a natural finish that lasts the entire day. It's big on rich black colour and creates the natural lashes you wish you were born with. A beach-bag must. 8/10, $39.
- 10. Sick of limp lashes come lunchtime? For lasting oomph try Shiseido's The Making Lasting Lift Mascara. The thick formula is dramatic but unlike so many high-impact potions, your flutter won't fade a few hours after application. 9/10, $45.
