Pretty woman Julia Roberts has recently been named the face of Lancôme's new much-awaited Définicils Precious Cells Mascara. The campaign was shot by photography's finest, Mario Testino, just after the Golden Globes last month and the product is set to be released in Australia in late May.
The glamorous 42-year-old has also recently starred in the loved-up comedy Valentine's Day alongside Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel and Anne Hathaway. So it's been a busy start to the year for the mother of two.
WWD.com sat down with screen siren to find out what Roberts most loves about being a brand ambassador for the Parisian beauty giants and found out how the beauty maven gets glowing for the red carpet.
"I think I have to stand up straighter and wash my face more. It's kind of like every girl's dream, really," Roberts said of her new duties as Lancôme's new face for the lash-defining product.
"I get all these things to play with and test and give my opinion about. And it's quite exciting without having to invest all of myself in how I look because they did come to me as me, which is a pretty casual mom. But you know, it's nice to up your game a little bit," she told WWD.com.
Roberts was also asked how she defines beauty. "I think [beauty] continually redefines itself on a kind of daily basis," she said. "To see a person who is present in their joy is the most beautiful thing. I think that's why our children are all so luminescent they just exist in the moment of joy."
Roberts shared her secret to getting picture perfect for the red carpet. "It happens sort of on the spot," she said. "I work with people that I've worked with for years. So it's a team, and you have a sense of one another and what works and you just kind of put it all together."
