Big woolly hair, an 18th-century, 1890s, early 1900s and 1970s favourite, has again returned to take centrestage at Paris Fashion Week.
Marc Jacobs sent a string of models down the Louis Vuitton runway last night wearing full-on frizzy afro-styled hair. And the big wigs came in all shades coming down the runway. There was a foxy orange 'fro, light- and dark-browns and even blondes.
Traditional 'fro combs were replaced with pretty bows, giving it that LV finish. It was a powerful take on the icon ghetto hairstyle and we can't wait to channel our inner-Lauryn Hill and get the hip-hop look at a dress-up party maybe!
We asked fashion hair maestro, Brad Ngata to give us his thoughts on the LV 'do.
"I like the hair. I think it's a bit of fun! Last season, Marc paid homage to the '80s and this season it's the '70s. As for whether we'll see this style translate to where hair is going as a trend this season ... I hope not!" Ngata said.
"Thankfully, the models are clearly wearing wigs. As far as colour goes, I do like the muted tones of the blondes and reds. So if I was to take anything from this show it would be colour inspiration."
Have you say: Will you be investing in a ghetto-fabulous Louis Vuitton-inspired afro wig this season?
