Road test: Shiseido Bio-Performance Intensive Skin Corrective Program.
Aim: The brand claims that using magnesium and calcium ions to balance the skin's energy, Bio-Performance Intensive Skin Corrective Program can dramatically improve skin condition in as little as two weeks, giving users stronger-feeling skin and improvements in smoothness, moisture and firmness.
What happens: The program includes a two-week supply of serums and balms. According to Shiseido, the serum acts directly on the skin to bring it back to its best condition, and the balm, with its occlusion effects, seals the serum onto the skin. Together they aim to ensure that the key ingredient, the bio-recharger MC which is made up of super bio-hyaluronic acid, cherry leaf extract, erythritol and glycerin, remains in effect for a full 24 hours. First, apply the serum to clean skin evenly over the face, working from the centre of the face outwards, massaging it into the skin until completely absorbed. Follow with the balm (warm it with your fingertips before smoothing it over your face).
Cost: $390.
The bottom line: "At first I didn't notice anything remarkable about my skin but after a couple of days I noticed my skin was plumper, the tone had improved and I started to receive receiving compliments from friends: 'Gee, you're looking really well', and 'You look radiant today'." Jackie, 35
