She may be a beauty but actress January Jones is more than just a pretty face. "As a woman, you don't want to be just window dressing. I’ve probably been unattractive to some men because I do say what I feel and what I think."
The definitely-not-unattractive January was discovered at 18 by a modelling scout in her home state of Nebraska. From there she drifted into acting and had roles in Love Actually and American Pie: The Wedding.
But it's as bored housewife Betty Draper in Mad Men that January's earned her icon status. The 1960s styling of the cult TV show (think Alice bands, red nails and bold eyelashes) is most often associated with her cool blonde character.
The 31-year-old actress (who once dated Ashton Kutcher) had her A-list status cemented last month when she graced the cover of Interview magazine. Her interviewer was Oscar-winner Jack Nicholson, who describes January's Betty Draper as "a turn on the classic Grace Kelly character. Call her a 'Hitchcock blonde'."
