Melanie Burnicle is one of Sydney's hottest make-up artists and spends her days glamming up international superstars such as Sophie Monk and Craig David. So, what's in her professional make-up kit? We ask Melanie to reveal the goods.
1. Olay Total Effects Touch of Foundation, $29.99
If you can't bear the thought of slathering on foundation when the mercury heats up, this super-light moisturising foundation (in stores March 2009) is for you. "It's almost too good to be true I love this product!" Burnicle says. "It's a moisturiser that helps fight the seven signs of ageing. It has an SPF of 15, which is a necessity in our climate, and a touch of foundation that leaves the skin looking dewy and fresh. And, yes, it's so light that you can't even feel you're wearing it!"
2. Stila Convertible Colour, $45
Celebs go ga-ga over Stila and Melanie says this creamy skin tint is a handbag must-have for any girl on the go. "It brightens cheeks and lips with a beautiful natural glow so you will look radiant!" Burnicle says.
3. Max Factor Masterpiece Beyond Length Mascara, $24.95
Masterpiece ticks all the golden mascara boxes: no clumping, no smudging, no flaking basically, no budging until you want it off! "The brush is amazing," says Burnicle. "You can even reach all the baby lashes on the inside corner of the eye."
4. MAC Paint Pots, $35
If you don't have oodles of time to spend on your make-up routine, these creamy eye shadow pots are ideal. "It's a highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy but dries to an intense, vibrant finish," says Burnicle. Best of all, it'll stay where it's supposed to, even if you're working up a sweat on the dance floor. "Once dry, you can even blend dry eye shadows into it to change your look."
